History

The Lavaca County Czech Heritage Society  is a non-profit and non-denominational organization whose purpose is to preserve the history, heritage, culture, and language of the Czech people of Texas.  The chapter was formed in 1991.   Chapter dues are $15.00 yearly.


Upcoming Events


Tarock Club

The annual Lavaca County Czech Heritage Society Tarok Tournament was held on Sunday, March 2, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hallettsville.  Sixty-five players sat down for a day of competitive playing starting at 9 AM.  A catered meal by Kolacny's Catering was served at noon with desserts provided by the Lavaca Czech Heritage Society.

Winners in this year's tournament are:  1st place, Franklin Schlesdinger, 2nd place, David Kucera, 3ed place, Alton Demel and 4th place Jimmie Coufal.  Congratulations!!

If you are interested in learning to play Tarock, or just having a good time, join our Tarock players who meet ever other Wednesday at the office building of Kathleen Chovanetz. One block north of the square, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.
